Educational Background and Legal Expertise in RI

Leah J. Boisclair earned her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2017. During her time at Roger Williams University School of Law, she participated in trial team and moot court competitions, gaining invaluable practical experience. As a Rule 9 Student Attorney in the Criminal Law Clinic, she represented clients facing misdemeanor charges in Rhode Island District Court, further solidifying her courtroom skills.

Her internships at the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Rhode Island and the Committee on Public Counsel Services in Massachusetts allowed her to work alongside experienced federal defenders and public counsel, broadening her understanding of both state and federal criminal law.

She is actively involved in the legal community, serving on the Executive, Legislative, Bylaws, and Finance Committees of the Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (RIACDL). She also co-chairs the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal Bench/Bar Committee, advocating for improvements within the traffic court system.
